A pool losing water in Atlantic Beach Golf Estate
A pool in Atlantic Beach Golf Estate was losing water, with nothing visible to explain it. Using trace gas I found the leak in the pool plumbing, at the multiport valve on the filter. Water was being pumped out through the backwash port every time the pump ran, which is one of the most common pool leaks there is and one of the hardest to spot, because the water simply disappears down the waste line and never shows on the ground. The fix was a small one, replacing a worn washer inside the valve.
A high water bill traced to a faulty valve
Another Atlantic Beach home had a high water account and a meter that kept turning even with everything switched off. After a full visual inspection I pressure tested the property and traced the problem to a faulty 400 kPa pressure reducing valve, which was letting water through continuously. Not a burst pipe, but a steady, invisible loss that was adding up on every bill.
