Problem Reported
Pool seems to be losing water excessively.
Leak Detection Methods Used
- Trace Gas Test
- Flourescent Dye Test
Pool Areas Checked
- Return Line
- Lights
- Pool Connections
- Weir/Skimmer Box
- Any cracks or visible tears in the pool lining
Test Results
Using dye. I traced a leak on a large crack inside the pool. The crack clearly drew dye in. A clear indication of a leak.
There are other areas where the fibre glass is chipped and broken but doesn’t seem to be leaking at the time of this test.
Existing pool problems that cause poor leak detection results:
- I was unable to test the suction line. I could not safely remove the cover inside the weir where the creepy connects. The plastic plate is jammed shutt and prevented me from testing the suction line.
